Gite With Pool In The Dordogne.

Les Volets Framboises offers accommodation for up to 6 people in a lovingly restored barn which retains many of its original features. Situated on the Dordogne / Charente border, just a few kilometres from the village of La Rochebeaucourt, the gite is surrounded by open countryside and enjoys lovely views over the valley, making it a great place to go for a holiday in the Dordogne, France.

In addition to comfortable, high quality accommodation the gite benefits from a swimming pool with sun terrace, barbecue area and private balcony, making it an ideal place to relax & unwind as well as a great base to discover all the attractions of the Dordogne & Charente.


Our accommodation has been created from a converted barn where many of the original features have been retained. The gite which sleeps 6 people enjoys a lovely view over the valley.

The accommodation consists of:

Open plan lounge, diner & kitchen with doors leading to the veranda.

Fully fitted kitchen including electric oven, gas hob, microwave, & dishwasher. All crockery & utensils are provided.

Lounge area with UK satellite TV & radio plus DVD & CD players.

Two en-suite bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin.

Double bed-settee in the lounge.

Veranda overlooking the pool, gardens & valley.

Separate utility area with washing machine & freezer.

The salt water swimming pool is 8 metres by 4 metres with roman steps leading to the water

The pool has a retractable cover which means it can be used even in less clement weather conditions. The cover also helps to maintain a good water temperature which averages at 26°.

As we have just one gite you will not be sharing the pool with any other guests.

There are ample sunbeds provided for relaxing around the pool.

Our Location:

Les Volets Framboises enjoys a superb location, situated close to the border of the Dordogne and Charente regions. The Dordogne is renowned for its magnificent chateaux, prehistoric caves, rich history and superb cuisine. The Charente, meanwhile, is famous for its warm climate and classic seaside resorts, romanesque architecture and open countryside.

Towns & Villages:

Brantôme - a beautiful village known as 'Little Venice' due to its waterside setting is just 30 kilometres away. Here you can go canoeing on the river, explore the magnificent abbey or relax in one of the cafés to take in the ambience.
La Rochebeaucourt et Argentine has three restaurants all offering a different experience, it has a Boulangerie to enable fresh bread and croissants each morning for the early birds.
Angoulême - the capital of the Charente - and Perigueux - the capital of the Dordogne - are both within an hours drive from the gite. They are well worth a visit for their historic city centres with cobbled streets and beautiful architecture.

Closer to home, the villages of Mareuil and Villebois Lavalette are both 9 kilometres away and have historic chateaux and vibrant markets as well as supermarkets for your grocery shopping.

Coast & Beaches:

Royan - the classic seaside resort - and the marina at La Rochelle with its medieval fortifications are approximately a 2 hour drive and make a great day trip. There are planty of leisure lakes nearer to home, however, as well as a man made river beach at Aubeterre - a very pretty village 30 minutes away.

Bars & Restaurants:

We are pleased to recommend some excellent restaurants, all within 30 minutes drive. The local village of La Rochebeaucourt has 2 bars - one offering very good pizzas and the other a bar / restaurant. The village is within walking distance of the gite.

Our changeover day is Saturday.

To ensure that we have time to perform a thorough clean, we request that guests vacate the gite by 10.00 am. Arrival time is from 4.00 pm onwards.
