The village has narrow streets lined with old houses. There are 3 restaurants, 2 cafes, a bakery and a small shop located in the village. The villagers are extremely friendly and organise events such as wine festivals, village fetes, concerts and dinners where the local foods, wines and French hospitality can be enjoyed throughout the year.

  • The village of Albas is situated 25km west of Cahors and about 50km east of Villeneuve sur Lot. There are several ways of getting to Albas from Cahors - the most direct being the D911 (direction Villeneuve sur Lot). The alternative route along the river via Pradines (signposted as you are leaving Cahors), Douelle and Luzech is more picturesque as you follow the meandering river passing many vineyards and chateaux on the way. The drive from Cahors takes about 20-30 minutes. La Carriere is located at the bottom end of the village next to the river and boule playing area between the Restaurant du Port and the Bar L'Espanade.
